The Liebster Awards

Well, I’ve been caught again to take part in another ‘nominations meme’ known as the Liebster Award, this time by the lovely Grace at Three Boys and a Cat

Thank you Grace – what a fun thing to take part in!!  I am honoured 🙂

Supposedly The Liebster Award has been doing the rounds for a couple of years now, and is a great way of finding out lots more juicy information about our lovely parent blogger friends and a great way too of discovering all the wonderful new blogs out there that are all so amazing that they need to be brought to your attention!!

So here are the rules. So simple even I could do this!!!……

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you – it’s always polite to return the love!
  • Answer the questions given to you
  • Nominate other bloggers with less than 500 followers whose blogs you love (how you know this I’ll never know – so I must admit, I just chose blogs I love!!)
  • Post 11 questions for your nominees to answer

See…it’s so easy – you could do it blindfolded!

So, with no further ado – here are the questions posed to me by Grace, along of course, with my answers ….

1. What would you put into Room 101?

People who park in child/carer spaces at the supermarkets! Especially when its obvious there are so many other spaces available for them to park in. This drives me crazy! I will quite happily go and have a few stern words with whomever is doing this and have also complained to customer services and even written notes and left them on car windows!

They know they’re in the wrong too! I find you get two types who do this – those who know they’re in the wrong and are perhaps regretting their decision having parked up, looking sheepish and some even staying in their cars until my evil glare has walked inside the shop with me; and those who really could care less – the total idiots out there who think they own the world!

I really wish I had my own personal clamp just to annoy them back!

Sorry – off soap box now – but it really makes me mad!

2. What would be your dream holiday?

Somewhere on an idyllic sandy beach. One place ive always wanted to go to is Bora-Bora. It looks so amazingly stunning, with such a difference in geographical features. It was a little too expensive for our honeymoon though – so we opted for the Maldives instead. This was amazing too – so I’m not complaining!

3. Mac or PC?

Mac! I love it! Especially as it’s just so quick and easy to upload any photos into iPhoto!

4. Sweet or savoury?

This is where you see the ‘libra’ in me! I simply can’t decide. I love both depending on what mood I’m in, so please can I sit on the fence for this one??

5. What was your favourite subject at school?

My goodness – how far back!?!?!?

I remember liking English as a subject – as I was ok at it. I like talking too – so perhaps that has helped with language!! Ha ha!!

6. What are you most afraid of?

Well, going by a post I’ve literally just written (yet to post) – you would first think it would be the supernatural/paranormal etc. But it’s not. That’s just something irrational about my brain (there’s lots more where that comes from too!)

Can I have two because again I can’t decide????

The thing I would say that most scares me is probably loneliness – I couldn’t bear to be on my own with no-one to love and no-one to love me back.

Yet my other would be – the future of my family. You read about so many horrible and truly disgusting things out there, be it accidents, drugs, nasty people, etc that I fear for them and their safety. Especially with the girls. How on earth I’m going to cope as they grow up and want to venture off on their own I will never know – but hopefully I can be guided along the way by all you lovely parent bloggers out there who’ve experienced this themselves who I can read your blogs and learn from them

7. If you could have any career in the world what would it be?

I would love, love, love to be a travel writer!!! I’d go anywhere! As long as I could take my family with me mind – as I would miss them too much!

8. Are you a dog person or a cat person?

Definitely dogs (sorry Grace!!) – but cats are lovely too . I just love a dog for how they are so loyal and obedient and loving, whereas I’ve known some cats in the past that really couldn’t be bothered with their owners at all! Unfortunately I’m allergic to both. Actually to all animal hair. We still had dogs though; and rabbits, hamsters, and a pony called Snowman (who was pretty much black)!!!!

9. What can you see out of your nearest window?

Trees! And the other section of the offices where I work. I posted this on Instagram the other day. I am so lucky to be sat by a large window, especially having returned from maternity leave where you don’t feel so claustrophobic all the time. At least here I have the trees to look out at – which is so lovely. Apart from when a pigeon flies into the window – that’s far less nice!! We have baby pigeons too at the moment – literally at eye level outside in a tree (we are on the first floor) – so it will be lovely to watch them grow up and fledge. Ok – so I know they’re only pigeons; rats of the sky as some may say, but if you know anything about me – I love everything!!! A lot of bumble bees fly into this window too – so many that I really can’t see where the problem is in their decline!! Chris Packham should visit me – he’s love it at my desk!!

Today outside my window – the company have even put on a BBQ in the courtyard! Whoop!!

Anyone for a BBQ?

10. Are you a morning person or a night person?

Pretty much all of my life I’ve been a morning a person, although since having the two girls, I’ve turned into neither! I could quite easily sleep in every morning and still make sure I was in bed by 9!! The only times this doesn’t ring true is if I’m travelling to an airport for a holiday – 2am – bring it on – I’m more excited than the kids! Or Christmas morning – same as before. Or if I’m on a night out with friends! I think the last time I was ‘let out’ I stumbled back in at 5am!! The hangover lasted the rest of the week though!

11. What is your favourite genre of music to listen to?

I don’t particularly have a favourite genre of music – I am pretty open to any type of music – I just have to like a particular song. So a lot of the time my playlists are the most random you could ever come across – not sure I’d make it as a DJ!

My latest downloads have been:

Paloma Faith – A Perfect Contradiction ,

Indiana – Solo Dancing,

Bastille – Bad Blood,

NOW – That’s What I Call Disney

Pitch Perfect – The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack!

Told you it was random!!!

There you go – hopefully you’ve learnt a little more about me and what makes me tick!!

Do you still want to know me?!?!? Ha ha!

So now let’s find out about some others:

The Liebster Award questions I would like to ask are:

Thank you so much for the nomination, that’s really lovely 🙂 And, I love your post! I always enjoy reading these kind of posts, so interesting to find out more about the people behind the blog. I also really hate people who park in child/carer spaces; but they seem to be a British, I’ve yet to see one here in the US 🙂 I love that one of your last downloads was Now – That’s what I call Disney!
