Our perfect family holiday

(to the tune of ‘Do You Wanna Build a Snowman’…. sorry!!!)
Do you wanna build a sandcastle?C'mon

Sorry…. totally cheesy I know but I couldn’t resist!!

Anyway, the fabulous people at Mark Warner holidays recently launched a competition offering five lucky winners the chance to become a Mark Warner Holidays Ambassador and to each win a luxury weeks holiday at either a skiing or beach resort destination.

They asked us to let them know what our ideal holiday would be.

So, here is mine……..

Though we dearly love our little

Holidays for me are about enjoying and spending quality time with my family and allowing the kids to actually still be kids and experience and learn for themselves what the big outside world has to offer.

Monster 1 - aka H-Pops

When I grew up I never really gave much thought about what possibilities are out there, but since working abroad myself for a sailing and water sports company (quite some years ago now!!), and actually meeting my husband on that amazing adventure, I am now passionate for my children to be familiar and to grow up and love the endless array of activities there are available to them.

And, as I’ve previously posted, it scares me that we live in such a fast evolving world of technology, so although I understand how hugely important this is, I am also going to be dedicated to ensuring my girls (anyone else who’ll listen!) spend as much time as possible enjoying outdoor activities, sports and grow up to understand the benefits these activities have on their lifestyle, health and general wellbeing.

Monster 2 - aka Little E.....I’ve digressed (I told you I was passionate!)

So, a perfect holiday for my husband and I would be one where we finally get the chance to introduce our beautiful children to the world where mummy and daddy first met.

A long awaited dream of mine.

To laze around a pool as a family, playing on the beach, building sandcastles and collecting shells, to take them out on the water in fun boats, for them to learn to love the sea, and maybe even to watch Daddy as he goes windsurfing or wake boarding again.

It would also be amazing!

I know they are still young, but I’d love them to be introduced from an early age, full of energy, enthusiasm, inquisitiveness and above all no fear factor.  Just an amazing sense of adventure. I’d like it to come naturally to them, as it did for their Daddy and his family when he was a young boy.  Holly is four, but is the most active child I think I’ve ever seen! To be honest – she doesn’t really sit still. Which also seems to be rubbing off on her little sister, Ella, aged 22 months, who only wants to copy whatever Holly is doing. So much so she is a little daredevil when it comes to anything.

Mummy & Daddy a few years ago when they

We’ve already introduced H to skiing, which she took to like a duck to water and loved immensely, so now we’d love to introduce her and her sister to the water and to all the fun and games to be had.

H-Pops - proud as can be with her first

Another reason that we’d love this type of holiday, is perhaps because it could also be a way to enjoy time as a couple as well.

In our very hectic 9-5 working worlds, there never really seems to be the time to enjoy any ‘us’ time anymore.

And the stresses and strains of life take their toll.

The wants and wishes of everyone else always come first and foremost so, perhaps in the knowledge that our children would be perfectly cared and catered for in the fabulous kids club on offer, we might just be able to take a romantic stroll along the beach together, have a meal where we’re actually both sat at the table at the same time or perhaps Daddy could even scare Mummy all over again on a Hobie Cat….

Daddy in the good old days, playing out

Daddy and his girls....

The possibilities could be endless and exciting.
For all of us.
Together.
As a family.
