Can it really be one year already?
Can I truly have been jotting down my regular musings and famly goings on for a whole year!
Well yes folks, I have been!
And last week I celebrated my very first Blogiversary! I meant to post this in conjunction with the actual date but was a little poorly so everything went on hold (apart from the well-earned, devouring of the birthday cake that is!!)
Yes, I really did treat myself to a pink princess cake!!
I absolutely had no idea that one year on and I’d still be tap, tapping away at my Mac!
And I just can’t explain just how over the moon and pleased I am with myself for this fact alone!
Just over a year ago, the term ‘blogging’ wasn’t really one which featured in my vocabulary at all.
I hadn’t been an avid reader of anything in particular and if anything I suppose I prejudged bloggers out there as ‘techy computer geeks’ – but oh how super wrong was I!
In actual fact, I think I’ve realised that this world is made up of every type of person you could imagine. And we’re all amazingly fabulous for being just that. A beautiful eclectic mixture of backgrounds, thoughts, opinions and views.
Yes, clearly there are those views and opinions out there which I don’t wholly agree with or warm to, but that’s the joy of blogging, if you don’t like it you can just move onto the next blog and read that one instead.
For a whole year now I’ve looked at life a little differently.
It’s made me see things from other peoples perspectives, look at things in much finer detail, question the possibilities and look on in awe at the truly inspirational inner strength of people.
What’s more – it’s made me look at ‘me’ a whole lot more closely too. At my life, my family and friends, the things we do, the things we say, the places we go.
It’s highlighted issues I’d probably put to the back of mind. Things I just tried to cover over when I used to go about my daily life ‘pre-blogging’!
It’s raised a much greater awareness of my inner thoughts and feelings and how I deal with life, and with others on a daily basis.
It’s pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me to push boundaries.
But, for all the things I have learnt along my journey, the one thing I’ve had is ‘fun’!
The year has literally flown and I suppose as the old adage says,
time flies when you’re having fun
And I would wholeheartedly agree, as that’s exactly what I have been having in my first year of blogging.
I’ve documented my family’s life for a year. I have actually achieved what I set out to do. And I am happy with that.
Never before really have I stuck to anything quite as I have done to blogging. Perhaps, finally, at the ripe old age of 38 I have found something I am passionate about.
I now feel justified to regard myself as a ‘blogger’
But, I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for some fabulous people who’ve supported me along the way, some that I’ve now been able to meet personally and some beautiful and hugely talented ladies out there, who I am now so amazingly lucky enough to regard as friends.
I just want to say a big thank you to you all, for following and talking with me on my blog or on social media, for listening to me ramble on and for sticking with me throughout the tougher times, as it is you, who’s allowed for all of the above to happen.

Congratulations Steph and Happy Birthday! Reaching any blog birthday is quite an achievement. I don’t think anyone realises the amount of work that goes into a blog or how hard it can be to keep it going at times, so well done!
It was my 3rd blogging birthday on Friday and I’ve made the huge decision to become a professional blogger after my blog really took off last year. My blog has brought me all kinds of opportunities i would never have dared to imagine and is now making really good money too, so it’s time to make the leap!
