As a family we’ve been fortunate enough (or daft enough maybe?) to travel with our daughters on holidays in both the UK and abroad, from rather early on as soon as they were born.
We were never put off by the whole ‘oh no – I can’t possibly travel with little kids’ thing, probably mainly from a selfish perspective perhaps, as I couldn’t go without my holidays! And rather than taking the view that our girls were hindering the whole experience, we chose to embrace it, and although not without its problems (read here), we remain perfectly happy travelling with our little ones. Especially now that they are getting that little bit older, as I’m finding things becoming that little bit easier.
And although there have been many times when we’ve practically packed everything from the house up into our suitcases – probably including the kitchen sink! – there were some items which we’ve used time and time again, which have proved to be extremely handy and in some cases, indispensable. So, here are just some of the items – as I say, that we have either used ourselves, or have been on holiday with others who have used these items, so have always received trusted feedback.

So that is the round up of just some the items I’ve used and now swear by, for both their convenience and of course healthier stress levels for me, when travelling with my little ones.
As I mentioned above though – this list is really not exhaustive, as there are a few other essential items we’ve become rather attached to also – though I plan to share these with you in a follow up post very soon.
What about you? Have you used any of these items yourself? What was your experience of them?
And what have been the items you couldn’t live without when you’ve travelled with your little ones??
What a great selection, I love the headphones, I need to get some for G as I am sick of hearing her games on the tablet!!
Do you know? Those Koo-di travel cots are on my essential top 10 list too. We’ve used ours again and again… it’s only now that the boys are starting to get a bit big for them — I’ve even messaged them to ask if they could make a bigger size!! X

Wow this is very organised. Great tips. I am still yet to venture abroad with the twins but we will attempt it soon! We’ve been to plenty of places in the UK so we definitely know what you mean! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Jess x
This is a great list! I love that potty, so much more convenient than the one I had when my big kids were potty training. xxx
Do those Jo Jo bracelets to repel mozzies really work? That would be a fab thing to take on holiday. Some great ideas here Steph!
Fab list – some things here I’ve never seen before.
The bag steriliser is genius!
