Wired: Geometric Home Accessories & Furnishings

Following on from my recent post about styling a house using copper, I’m sticking with the metallic theme and focusing this time on another of this seasons key trends.

Geometric wire furniture and accessories!

Sounds a little bizarre don’t you think, or uncomfortable if anything, but this look is huge right now and appears constantly in our everyday media publications.

Again it harnesses an industrial chic look, which fits seamlessly into modern day living and interiors, just as the copper did.

And again, it brings with it that little touch of stylish glamour to update any home interior.

The clean lines of the geometric shapes, add a symmetrical order and uniformity to other key interior furnishings and accents such as cabe knit woollens, fur throws, woven baskets which adds more interest and intrigue to a room.

I love the way it can be introduced to a room but not take over either. Made of only twisted or soldered together wires, these key pieces are otherwise transparent, so they almost add a sense of space to a theme. Take the kitchen chair for example, large bar stools will probably still look lovely, but if you don’t want the eye detracted from your main room features, these would be the perfect addition.

Wire pieces can be found in all forms too. From lampshades to vases, storage units to seating. Plus, wired objects and accessories are available in a whole array of colours to suit any interior colour scheme or personally tastes.

What’s more, it’s fun! It brings a sense of modern cool to any normal room, and gives ‘everyday’ items a bit of a twist.

Again it’s a minimalist look, where you can easily bring your own rooms up to date and on-trend by introducing just the slightest hint of the look.

The quirky minimalistic look can easily be introduced, at little cost if necessary, to bring your room schemes slap bang up to date which instantly exudes on-trend style appeal. And you name it, you can pretty much lay your hands on almost any living accessory in it!

And as I just mentioned, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Update your home office with some desk accessories, add a touch of extra glamour to a floral arrangement, store your bathroom cosmetics and toiletries in fun wire storage units, and instantly lift your kitchen with some really amazing bar stools!

Again, the options are endless!

I’ve got my eye on a few items now, especially knowing that we are embarking on our little home overhaul soon, but here are a few little bits and pieces to get your mouth watering…
