With the general chaos of spending the last three weeks in the hospital with Ella, and in amongst all the other sadness and turmoil surrounding our little family at this time, I can only say how utterly overwhelmed I have been by the truly amazing warmth and goodwill of the people all around me.
We have well and truly been showered with kindness.
And I wanted to say a huge Thank You to you all.
Firstly there’s my friends and family – who have surrounded us with love and care from the start.
From everything from lifts to and from the hospital or to the hospice, whilst Mr B has been on crutches and unable to drive.
There have been numerous offers of shopping errands, childcare, house cleaning, laundry and ironing; everything through to offers of having Holly in for sleepovers or for play days so that Mikey and I could get some rest, and of course so that Holly can have some fun through this time of total upheaval, and not dwell on the fact that mummy and daddy are away on alternate nights.
It seems that when the chips are down you really can count on people after all.
We’ve been inundated with kindness and well wishes from so many.
Words cannot explain how grateful and thankful I am at your care, concern and thoughtfulness. You have no idea how much you helped us through a tough patch.
We’ve also been completely flooded with generosity of others too.
Sometimes strangers, people we don’t even know and have never even met. Kind words and well wishes via email, over Twitter and through Facebook.
So many messages of love and strength from around the entire country.
And even gifts for Ella from friends, family, neighbours, and even from fellow bloggers I’ve only ever met in person once. Also beautiful drawings, artwork and coloured-in pictures from her little friends.
This experience has been hard, and still is, but I can only take positivity from it.
Sometimes it feels as though there is not much compassion in this world around us today, but you have all cured me of that negativity, shown me how absolutely big-hearted people can really be and restored my faith in humanity.
I am eternally thankful.

And just off to the hospice now to visit mikey’s mum again, who is looking like she’s going downhill even more now But on the plus side, we’re also hoping for Mikey to come off his crutches today too. Thank you do so much for being so lovely to us. You’re amazing and your website is bloody brilliant!! I will mention as much as I can!!!!
