Yup – exactly as I thought!
Me too!!
Which is why I was thrilled and jumped at the chance to attend a PR evening to launch the fabulous newly refurbished Pizza Hut restaurant in Reading’s Oracle Shopping Centre, with a handful of other lovely bloggers.
As I said at the time ‘ who doesn’t LOVE pizza’, count me in!
So, of course I was there with bells on.
Basically, the premise of the evening was to ‘re-introduce’ us to the well known restaurant chain which, through 2014 has undergone little bit of an overhaul, and when I say ‘little bit’ – I mean MAJOR!
The Pizza Hut Restaurant, Reading, is now just one of the first locations to already have launched this brand new look eatery and and I must say I was rather excited to take a peek myself.
I remember visiting Pizza Hut with my family quite a few years ago now as an ‘after school’ treat for dinner or with my friends on special occasions such as birthday parties.
So as I walked into the restaurant filled with memories from the past – (freely admitting to the fact its been rather a long while since my last visit), I was rather taken aback at the scene laid out in front of me.
I had walked into a busy and vibrant American Diner styled restaurant, with brightly upholstered booths, neon signs over food stations, pop-art posters adorning the walls and some rather fun and quirky lighting throughout.
Then something else hit me.
It had a bar!
Wow!
This really WAS different to the Pizza hut as I remembered it!
It was the perfect place to pull up a bar stool and sit chatting with your friends over some pre- dinner drinks, or to sit with your family in the stalls provided for those with littler legs perhaps!!
The addition of a bar will only feature in a select few of the larger establishments and has been one of the more ‘major’ of the restaurants transformations, serving a host of beverages to suit all, from alcoholic milkshakes and cocktails served in jam jars, to as full a range of non-alcoholic milkshakes, soft drinks and ‘mocktails’.
The menu at Pizza Hut has also been vastly improved, so, in addition to the well known and well loved pizza favourites it now boasts a far greater variety of pizzas and base choices, ‘sides’ such as onion rings, BBQ wings, buckets of chips and fun and tasty sharing platters. There is also a salad bar serving as much as you can eat salad- though, personally I chose to save this ‘extra’ room for a further slice of pizza!!
And for those of you still not full up after all of that – there’s the amazing Ice Cream station – which surely will be a massive hit with any of the younger clientele!
So, Pizza Hut is well and truly back in the game!
With its total overhaul and a pretty much all encompassing menu, the new look Pizza Hut caters for many different taste palettes and I’m sure could please even the fussiest of little mouths!!
I believe its almost bridged a gap in a the market, as it was only the other day I overheard a lady looking for somewhere to take her younger family for a bite to eat one evening in a fun and friendly environment.
Having visited the new Pizza Hut, this is now the place I would thoroughly recommend as it has perfectly and rather cleverly blended together an environment suited to all.
Which is why I can’t wait to take my family along to try it out for themselves too!

I like chicken and sweetcorn on my pizza but it has to have barbeque sauce.
When I was pregnant on LM I couldn’t get enough of ham and pineapple pizza and ate it all the time. Never liked before or since mind, bleugh!
