This picture was taken on a very special holiday back in 2009, as for our honeymoon, we flew to the beautiful islands of the Maldives to spend an idyllic 12 nights in pure paradise.
It wasn’t one of the more extravagant and salubrious of the Maldivian islands, but for the time we spent together as a newly married couple, it was heaven on earth!
We stayed in one of these cute little stilt huts which sat over the water, which was just amazing.
Lazing on the private deck out to the back of our hut, was just glorious.
We spent our long and lazy days reading books, enjoying the odd cocktail or two, and going on long walks around the small island, but I must say a great many of the hours were whiled away just gazing down into the crystal clear azure waters, mesmerised by the bright and colourful fish, and the odd shark or two which swam and weaved their way through the stilts below!
The most perfect of starts to a new and happy life together.
