Transfixed – My Captured Moment

I’ve been a little slack of late, so it’s been a wee while since I last joined Heledd for her fab linky.

This photograph was taken whilst on holiday in Rhodes, Greece just over a year ago now. It was one of those normal holiday evenings.

Both Mikey and I were either resting after an exhausting day entertaining the kids in and around the pool, or getting ourselves ready to go out for supper with our friends.  Both the girls had been bathed and were in their pyjamas while they waited for us to finish getting them ready too.

We were lucky in that our room had a glorious view out over the sea beyond, and each and every evening we were spoilt with some of the most amazing sunsets.

I suppose to some of us, these can become a little ‘normal’ (though if you’ve seen any of my previous posts – I’m sure you’ll notice I’ve always been a fan!). Once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all kind of thing.  But to Ella, being so young, I really don’t think she’d seen a sunset like it before that she could remember. So this was her first real view of how utterly beautiful and mesmerising they can be.

Stood there looking like a total scruff with her dishevelled hair, looking out in pure wonderment at the dark sea and brightly painted sky above.

And it’s of no wonder she was so transfixed, as this is what she was looking out at….

It’s not my favourite of the sunsets I’ve seen, least not the clearest of images either, but to Ella it was magical.

A girl after my own heart then. I sometimes feel I bore people with too many sunset shots – but every one has its own magic don’t you think. Thanks so much for your comment. Steph xxx
